About the Author
Leslie Liebling-Yardeni is a school counselor and a poet. A graduate of SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology as well as a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology/Communicative Disorders, and a graduate of Hofstra University with a Master of Science in Counselor Education, she was a private family therapist and guest-lectured at universities in graduate school psychology courses. As a child, she loved to write poems and short stories. WHO AM I is the prequel to WHO CAN I BE, and THE “I” THAT IS ME. She authored THE SUNRISE ON THE SEA, THE SPARKLE OF THE RAIN, THE HEART’S TULIP and other picture books as part of her social-emotional leaning collection. Leslie writes fiction and nonfiction STEAM picture books which explore geology, astronomy, and nature. Her poems have been published in an anthology. She runs creative arts seminars with her students to emphasize the importance of writing, music, and art with respect to emotional awareness and self-expression. Leslie is a piano composer and an avid reader. She loves to travel and has a passion for nature (instilled in her by her father, a geologist). Leslie lives in New York with her husband. ILLUSTRATOR BIO Richard S. Liebling received his undergraduate degree and Ph.D. in Geology from Columbia University. He worked at Carborundum and was a professor at Hunter College for over thirty years. He currently teaches geology courses at Hofstra University. Richard has published geology books, research, and manuals for higher education. He is a world traveler, photographer, and devoted father and husband. Richard lives in New York with his wife.
