THE RELUCTANT GANGSTER

So to most people and to him it looked like I was scared to throw a real punch. My backfist was about a foot away from his face. One, because he was dancing in and out, he had just danced out. And two, I was leaning back when I threw it. But this, well it sort of changed my outlook into me actually trying to fight back. So I put up my hands. Now I don’t have them rigid like a styled karate stance. I don’t have them in a fist even. They are just up there. So he wades in again swinging. But this time I start swinging back. And the fight goes like that for a couple of exchanges. He dancing in throws about 3, 4, or 5 punches, I block all of these and throw one back, as he dances out of the way. But I now am starting to get my fighting bearings, and his timing. Also I have started to throw some kicks. He moves out of the way of these since he really doesn’t know what to do with kicks. He throws one but when I block it he almost falls. Maybe I should have followed up then, but I’m still not really trying to fight. But I’m beginning to know that I have to fight. So he dances in and I catch the first punch but he stays in close and now we are toe to toe. Blocking and punching each other. So far we are connecting to the body and arms because we are both blocking everything that comes to the head and we are moving our heads very well also. So then I remembered a move that my best friend had told me about and showed me. When I tell you about this you’ll swear it won’t work but I was there and I’m telling you that this move works. Remember we are both swinging and blocking. Our arms are really moving and we are going off of instinct. But I’m thinking a little so I initiated the move. It starts with me throwing a punch too high to hit him, on purpose. Why would you do that I bet you are asking, especially now that I basically only have one arm to block and punch with. See the move is to leave it up there for a little bit. Cause guess what happened then? He forgot it was there. It was my right hand that I threw that punch with. I threw it high and to the right as I faced him. So my hand is just above his head and I block the next few punches that he throws. When my friend showed me this move I asked him do people really forget it is there. He assured me they do, he said it is like it is in chess when you set a piece and don’t move it. Then someone will land somewhere that that piece can capture it, because they forgot it is there. So once I felt like he had forgot about my right hand I just let it drop. And when I dropped it, it landed right on his left side of his nose. I saw his nose immediately collapsed on that side. I had kiyied or karate yelled when I did this so his cry of pain I don’t think any of the crowd heard but I did. Of course the move isn’t over. When you are doing classic martial arts whenever the right hand is blocking or punching then the left is going to be in the ready punch position. Mine was. And so I shuffled my feet and positioned myself a little bit more to my right, so that way my left hand punch went straight to his left eye. Again with the kiyah, this punch sort of stood him upright yet he was dizzy enough not to be able to react in time as now my right hand was cocked. I also moved my feet again to get into position basically to his left side. And I was kiyahing again with this punch heading straight for his left temple. And I hit exactly where I was aiming at. He crumbled on the spot. I stood there actually shocked at what I had done. A girl ran to him and tried to revive him by holding his head in her arms. Another girl ran to me and hugged me. Not really knowing what to do I turn and run for my car, and she grabbing my hand runs with me. I open up my door and she slides in and I slide in and fire it up. I take off out of the parking lot, I didn’t think that I had killed him but I knew that he was out and I just didn’t want to stick around at all.
