About the Book

Beyond the Struggle is a hybrid memoir and self-help book that explores trauma, healing, motherhood, faith, and resilience through the eyes of a former foster youth turned therapist, agency founder, and mother of four. Told in a voice that is both raw and reassuring, this collection of deeply personal essays is woven together with life lessons Alyssia learned while breaking generational cycles, launching a mental health agency, and piecing herself back together in the aftermath of foster care, abuse, and divorce. With each chapter, she invites readers—especially women who are caretakers, survivors, or helpers by nature—to exhale. This book is for the woman who feels like she has to hold everyone together while quietly unraveling. It’s part narrative, part rally cry, and part soft place to land. Written from the lens of a social worker, mother, survivor, and dreamer trying to build a life that feels whole, Beyond the Struggle is a gentle reminder that your story isn’t over—and your struggle doesn’t disqualify you from the life you dream of.

About the Author

Alyssia Daley is a mother of four, a licensed social worker, and a relentless advocate for hope. Her story began with aging out of foster care and teaching herself to read as a young adult—determined to rewrite her narrative. She went on to graduate cum laude with a BSW and nearly the same distinction with her MSW from Cleveland State University. Today, Alyssia runs a thriving mental health agency and has been featured on Good Morning America 3, ABC Cleveland, and Cleveland.com for her bridal business. Beyond the Struggle isn’t just about her wins—it’s about the gritty, gut-wrenching, and grace-filled moments where real healing happens.
