"Is it going to hurt?" Twelve-year-old Marie was terrified. "No big baby, it’s not going to hurt. Just hold your hand out and be still," Tyler barked. "Is the pin clean, Ty?" Marie was scraping her nails in the dirt. Tyler leaned back and glared at her. "What do you mean, is the pin clean?" "You're supposed to burn it first to sterilize it before you prick someone with it," Marie said. Tyler rolled her eyes, holding Marie’s finger. "Of course. I did, silly. Now hold still before it does hurt. Close your eyes and turn your head. We have to do it quick because the blood is dripping from my finger, and I’m not going to have enough left to rub against yours if you keep messing around."

In her debut novel, Unbreakable Bond, A Novel of Enduring Friendship, Jacqueline Blair nurtures her passion for storytelling into a tale of best friends and complicated relationships. A New Jersey native, Jacqueline began writing poetry at an early age and was published in American Poetry Anthology and Love’s Greatest Treasures: Today’s Poets Speak from the Heart. She received her AAS from Middlesex County College and her BA from Wesley College. Jacqueline fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming both a loving wife and a proud mother. With her heart wide open, she steps into a new chapter, hand in hand with the keeper of their dreams—ready to wander uncharted roads, chase sunrises, and turn every horizon into their shared story.
