About the Author

Susan Pickman is Doctoral Lecturer in Law, Police Science and Criminal Justice Administration and Director of the Master of Science in Security Management program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY) in New York City. Prior to John Jay College, she taught courses in Latin American History, American Government and Research Methods among other topics. As a permanent member of the faculty at John Jay College, she teaches Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Maritime Security, and other courses. She learned on the job as a police office and investigator, and as the Head of Professional Standards for a large municipality in Florida. She has a PhD in History with distinction from Stony Brook University (SUNY). She is a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator.
