About the Book

Kestrel returns to the front lines. He tires of war, and looks forward to the day his contract expires. As he serves under reckless the Fool Prince who commands his unit. He survives by dreaming of the day when he hangs up his sword, able to return Mathrli and live a quiet life. However, he wonders, given the current path of the nation, if such a dream will be short-lived. Aria, as the war progresses, falls deeper into the pit of the elite world. The proper nobility despise her very existence, while those who rely on her family to survive these tumultuous times seek hope from the unyielding Phoenix name. Her powerful gift, soon enough, becomes a curse. Forcing her to put her trust in the friendships and alliances she formed, not an easy task for her to do, when so many wish her dead. As the war marches onward, the nation feels the strain of the Lions' greed and the ignorance of the elite class. The common people of Sakkara prepare for the hardships of a long-drawn-out siege, while scratching out a living. Clinging on to scraps of hope that there is a better future in store.

Raven Mcknight's journey as author began as one simple question what would happen if, and thus Sword of Stars began to unfold. As an avid mythology and history enthustiast, she gained inspiration from the events of the ancient past and the stories of old, as well as good dose of feline choas to help create the world of Altaris. Besides writing she enjoys drawing, painting, gardening, enjoying nature, and tea.
