About the Book

2151: Quest of The Humanoids is a science fiction novel that takes place in the middle of the 22nd century, depicting the relationship between humans and humanoids when humanoids run the world and human intelligence has been marginalized. In this new world order, humans have been relegated to living in custodial centers run by the humanoids, who care for them as their elders. The one area in which humans retain superiority is their kinetic mobility; the most sought-after occupation for humans is serving as a bodyguard to provide physical protection for humanoids. For their part, the humanoids crave to be more human-like and, through sophisticated engineering, strive to emulate human motion and emotion via sports and theatrical performances.

The story’s main events unfold through the interactions between the brilliant humanoid director of engineering, Gerard (based at the recreated historical Sugar Camp compound in Dayton Ohio), and the J.J. and Dagmar Krebs family of humans. Gerard arranges the experimental simultaneous gestation and birth of human twins to both human and humanoid mothers and redesigns the game of basketball for humanoids. His life’s work is a quest to perfect, through exquisite engineering, the humanoid ability to understand, emulate, and surpass the attributes that give depth to living beings and that humanoids currently lack.

But humans also possess free will, and for free will to exist, evil must exist as well. Should a class of humanoids comprised of solely positive attributes be allowed to exist unchallenged? Gerard and his humanoid engineering rival, Sefus, must first resolve the struggle for supremacy between virtue and evil in humanoid evolution. When they do, the future course of humanoid development is clear, culminating in the first marriage between a human and a humanoid in the history of the world.
