Death of a Diamond Lady

I click record on my phone and hold it out in front of me. Instead of sprinting the other way, which I’m dying to do, I force my feet to walk toward the noise. It’s coming from that room with the big screen where I saw Diamond’s videotaped will. Oh, it’s probably just another video Ms. Everett left running. I let out a sigh.
I head inside but strangely the big screen is blank. Yet I still hear the noise. It sounds like someone laughing.
“Hello,” I say softly looking around at the empty room with the long couch and the big cushy recliner chairs. “Is anybody here?”
“You’re so right about that little lady,” a deep voice says. I yelp and spin around! But I don’t see anyone! I’m shaking so hard I nearly drop my phone! My knees are about to buckle under me.
“Who are you? Where are you?” I ask pleadingly. I whirl around trying to see, something, anything. But there’s no one here!
“Get outta here, girl!” The voice demands this time loudly, ferociously.
I scream and dash from the room. I race down the hall and suddenly something grabs me. I scream again and drop my phone. I’m lifted off my feet! I kick and struggle.
“Stop it! Stop it you little…”
It’s Jaron! He’s got me. I knew it! He is the ghost! I struggle and kick but he’s too strong! He tries to put a hand over my mouth. I twist and turn my head back and forth, finally freeing it and then I open my mouth wide and…
“OWWWWW!” Jaron yells as I bite down hard on his finger. He drops me! I land with a thud on the floor and scramble to my feet and run.
I see an open door and dash inside just as I hear Aunt Enna’s voice shouting my name. I press myself against a wall to try and steady myself. I’m shaking so hard I can barely stand. I’m in the jewelry room. I hear Aunt Enna and a lot of commotion in the hall. Panting, I swallow hard. They’ll be in here any second. Jaron was the one trying to scare me and he just tried to kill me! I scurry over to one of the jewelry cases and squat down low beside it, trying to hide.
“Robbie! Where are you?” I hear Aunt Enna cry out. “What have you done to my niece?”
“She bit me! That nosy little…”
It’s Jaron’s voice.
“What’s all the yelling about?”
Now I can hear Mr. Jamie. I try to catch my breath as I hear the mix of voices get louder. They’re somewhere in the hall. And they’re getting closer! I look up and can see the glimmer of that ruby and diamond tiara in the case across the room. Suddenly it happens---the whirling in front of my eyes. I close them quickly. A vision is starting! Hopefully it’s just in the nick of time to save me!
