A lumpy bumpy pumpkin feels alone, overlooked, and like no one cares about him. While growing on a vine in a garden, he sadly believes his special qualities have made him undesirable.

In an effort to be seen and chosen before he becomes too old, the lumpy bumpy pumpkin places himself in different spots so someone might give him a home. He sits on a porch swing and hides among the flowers. Nothing works until a teacher sees him sitting alone on the sidewalk and shows him just how special he is.

About the Author

Gail Fleming has spent over thirty years educating young children at schools such as Head Start, Montessori, and her own, Little Friends Preschool. Every job she has ever held, whether it was a baker, tailor, or candlestick maker, prepared her to teach a lesson to children. Today she lives in a cozy house in Tipton, Iowa, where she crafts, reads, paints, and gardens.
