Looking for Quiet

SOMETHING LACKING Quiet. Eerily. Empty. Quiet is the antidote to the universe of noise, which surrounds. Quiet, to survive within my head whatever is left over from the dross drained out by noise. While I’m dressing in the gym sound is compounded by words screeched over and over, “ta da, ta da, ta da, (How can you screech Ta Da, ta da?’) Oh how naïve you are, compounded by sounds which repeat an un-life-like cacophony, intended, asserts these pretenders of sound, to be something beyond life, beyond such dull creations as harmony, or music with three note chords. These sounds never repeat more than Two note chords. Quite beyond Disharmony! LITTLE THINGS COUNT It’s easy not to think about “values.” We often do this over and over again, yet inside, deep inside each of us our values are continuously influencing each and every thought and function of our being, for our values, unlike our poop, are not excreted daily or sometimes even for a lifetime, despite our efforts to ignore them. And, when we ignore our values, we seriously diminish the key to every successful relationship we may wish to achieve. We wonder why our lives are turning bleak and lonely. The explanation lies totally in our habit of ignoring our values. It pays to discover what they are!! VALUES Despite the nearness of the end of ourselves, we experience little dread, little real sense of our own disappearance, for we are human, and humans employ many resources to avoid facing reality, allowing what is real to creep up and devour them at times while at other times, they armor themselves with new means and ways to overcome whatever travails assail them. Oh, how I wish this to be true. For, at this point in time, we are faced with four years of incremental wearing down of our many-sided history, some good, some bad, but none absent of hope, absent of the ability to return to our original values. Yes, it is our values. our original values which are to be confronted with their demise, and it is up to us, as humans to devise new means of avoiding their end while saving it all in the value of Love. OUR HUMANNESS WANES We are hurting as humanity! When we prick ourselves into the realization of what we have become, namely, mealy worms of vanity for a leader who has no interest in our pain. No interest or care what happens beyond the scope of his own inclinations and desires. We have become fodder for feeding his self. His tiny Self. His abhorrent Self. And we have become the “let-ons,” who allow him to feed. Pity us and pity our impotence. Yes, I am old, and impotent, but a double down on impotence disturbs my equilibrium.
