About the Book
Life’s Lessons and Recipes takes you through the kitchens of the Deep South, using handed down recipes and newly created ones. Family stories are added to create the atmosphere of the foods popular in the South.
About the Author
A six generation Mississippian, Melita Wade Thorpe draws on the traditions and heritage in the Deep South. She is a published author of three novels: Ransom Theft Love, published in 2022, For Such a Time as This, 2023 and Dark Shadows, 2025. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis. Thorpe, an amateur astronomer, owned and operated a tour company that specialized in astronomy taking astronomers to see events in the sky.
