For several years, I have been encouraged to write my memoir. This is that attempt.

In writing my memoir, I had to decide what to include and what to leave out. I have had many wonderful experiences in my life, and many generous people who assisted and supported me. I wanted to include my most salient experiences and recognize the most supportive individuals I’ve met. This makes my writing to be a memoir rather than an autobiography. Some readers might say it should be an autobiography because of the chronological accounting in some places, but the content is not in sequence.

Most of all, I wanted to lift up my parents and my wife for their unconditional love and support. I couldn’t have done what I have done or achieved what I have achieved without their strong support. My parents were with me on this journey until their deaths. Since marriage, my wife has been right beside me every step of the way. Her encouragement was essential!

I have tried to be accurate in my writing. I wanted to record my memories as they occurred without tainting or embellishing. Of course, a misstatement might have been included. If that occurred, I offer my sincere apology.
